Hiiii! You know what’s really cool? When a company makes record profits but can’t pass on a cost of living increase to its workers that’s inline with the skyrocketing rates of inflation. But I’m just a silly girl with a silly head who wouldn’t know anything about economics! And for the record, I love my job. Any opinions expressed here are from my poetic alter ego, for which Corporate Kelly is not liable for.
Anyway, PTK has been manifesting overtime helping each other out with some maaajor projects behind the scenes (hence Larissa’s religious love letter to me last week).
Who would have known that Larissa has also been helping me with her artistic expertise on a collaborative poetry installation and workshop I have coming up @ Treehouse NDSM in Amsterdam from March 16th - April 9th. All of you are invited!! Check my post here for info on the opening night party, exhibition hours, workshop deets and more.
ALSO, a huge thank you to everyone who submitted to PTK during the month of Feb! Larissa and I have been reviewing all of the pieces and there is SO MUCH wonderful work in there. We cannot wait to make final decisions and start expanding the world of PTK. Stay tuned for updates.
it’s more than a job, it’s a journey 🚂
you know it’s funny
how you can go from going on a morning run to screaming in the shower while The Oogum Boogum Song is playing because your phone is plugged in in the kitchen and this feeling is reminiscent of when you were fifteen popping blood vessels because you felt like you couldn’t cry convinced you were equipped to handle the burndown Jira will be the death of me solidarity with sanitation workers as a street sweeper slides down The Swindenstraat and I yell, “scabs!!” out the window a 1% merit increase in this economy is wage theft rage theft I swear to god my left eye migraine eucalyptus tea meditation would text my therapist but she ghosted me
it’s like, should I go on a walk
across the city should I shout into a pillow should I journal my way out of dismantling capitalism I know it’s cliche but like I cannot be exposed to the patriarchy every day if I have to watch another epic crawl across a scrum board I just might gauge my post-zoom spiral set your objectives to feign interest in their feedback to play chess with people to wonder how is that pitch black box you’re living in you know I could crawl in there and just hold your hand the other day I considered laying in a field on fire and making snow angels with the flames but this was just a mind game I’m totally fine! exercising why people don’t dare to cross the dotted lines
what’s that saying
that seeds need darkness in order to survive maybe our roots are already rattling on and when you pop through I’ll be there to provide the shade that girlfriends don’t fix everything early Robyn calling reminds me of working at the Urban Outfitters on 72nd and Broadway leaping over rats running home after being on my feet all day I’m the utmost of intentions attenting to a parody of past selves parasocial portrait landscaped and alone like a grocery store the only way out is through the checkout line even if I don’t find what I’m looking for is a self-contained invasion snacking on my joy is a monster just out of view it’s not you - it’s my predictive text
planting
all of our parallels through.
Your poetry homework for the week is to figure out if your workplace has a union and join it! Okay, talk later kids. 👋🏻
it’s more than a job, it’s a journey 🚂
Congrats on the poetic things coming.....
Sorry these corporations suck....no we don't have a union, and yes we get measly 1% wage increases as well.....UGH!
Congrats on all the exciting news! And sorry if you're underappreciated and underpaid in your job. I had to quit mine for that reason, and that it was affecting my health, even though I love everyone there.
