Hi everyone, this is a poem response to Sophie’s simlish words! It’s also a strange little poem which I wrote as one of multiple parts of this pink project I worked on for my “Thinking and writing through art” grad school summer class with Sheryda Warrener.
Bubblegum Pink or 13 pink objects in your hands
(exploded poem)
instructions for activation of poem
Collect a piece of Hubba BubbaⓇ bubble gum from the pink receptacle
Consume the Hubba BubbaⓇ bubble gum (to the best of your abilities)
While engaging with the Hubba BubbaⓇ bubble gum proceed to the composition of pink objects which are to the right of the Hubba Bubba bubble gum.
Select one (1) pink object from the spread, make this choice intuitively. Pick the pink.
Once you have your pink object, proceed to the Artist’s Station to receive your collection and to officialize the pink handover.
Open your envelope.
Participate in the reading of the poem.
Each object corresponds to one loose stanza.
The stanzas’ order will show itself.
Make a wish.
Discard of the gum when it is no longer experiential.
Once at home, place your pink object in a not-pink space.
Your poetry prompt for the week 💕
borrowed from Sheryda and adapted through myself:
A color collection:
-Select a frequent color in your immediate surroundings.
-collect the color
-document the collection
-once your collection is complete, write a poem in response to it.
That’s all for this week! Sorry for the short post; I got married last Thursday (oh yes, A LOT happened while we were on a break and it’s all been quite a time! For a wedding gift Sophie gave me a friendship bracelet inspired by Wendy Cope’s The Orange, it was real cute! but more on that a different time!).
I hope each and every one of you finds a slice of stillness and happiness this week!
Xoxo,
L
p.s.: my bouquet and veil were pink, obvs.
Is pink a light shade of red?
