At some point at the dinner party
Hello! Larissa here! After 3 months of self imposed tropical exile while finishing my artist residency for Grapevine, I find myself back in cold and cloudy Curitiba. I am here in to say bye to my friends before embarking on my journey to meet my poetry soul mate (Kelly) in Amsterdam NEXT WEEK!!!!! Eeeeek!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, where were we? Oh yes, my friends here! They have been so warm in their welcome and like any late 20s friend group, their welcome includes hosting dinner parties doused in the second cheapest wine on the supermarket shelf (Not us not being broke teenagers). These events always make me feel very grown up. So, as a response to risotto with friends and our Hot People Host a Dinner Party issue, and Kelly’s poem, and wanting to test out substack’s new features, here’s a choose your own dinner party adventure poem!
At some point at the dinner party
Delectable? Oddly unsatisfying? Surreal?
Your poetry prompt is to write a thank you letter to your last dinner party host
Xoxo,
L
