hey, kids! kelly was not on top of her full moon manifestations last week because she was too busy living a double life moshing at basement shows and tossing back wine coolers at corporate parties and now she’s over-socialized and she be needs to be isolated from humans for the next 48 hours etc.etc.

anyway, this piece goes out to literally everyone she hung out with last week. (and Paulo Freire). love you guyssss. 💞 xx K

reflection reflex
NERDZ!
the cheat codes
to the universe are:
creatures of possibility,
molotov cocktails,
& toilet paper runs reality
is never-ending bitch,
I’m the Trojan horse
superimposed upon
your corporate party
stop blaming the delays
on the dialog we all need
to work
on our confidence
in the mosh pit muppets
unions are nothing short
of insurance these days
we’re healing
our inner teens but
caretaking has never
been seen as true labor
fuck that precarity
is an illusion because
abundance is all around us
what if we rotated working
the tech jobs while
some of us cooked
some of us made music
some of us threw parties &
some of us taught yoga yo
we’ve got every skill
except farming probably
airdrop me your anarchy
keep seeing 16 but we
have 53 genius ideas &
are too afraid to try
any of them so busy!
cruising with capital
in a dark room instead
turn the lights on our trauma
isn’t as unique as we thought
it was pedagogy of the
depressed we’re sick
of participating in other
people’s prophecies binders
& butterflies do we know who
we are when we back out
of our backup plans
trickery & mastery are
the same kind of currency
so it's time to pay up
& lick the popsicle,
babies

Your poetry homework for the week is to get wildly drunk at your next work party because all of the free alcohol in the world doesn’t make up for the fact that they’re not paying you enough 🤑🤑🤑

P.S. I’m also all for this idea that rich tech people should be funding a contemporary renaissance. So hit us up if you know anything about commissioning a gallery show in Amsterdam for an up-and-coming Brazilian artist or funding a Broadway musical that is loosely inspired by our corporate disillusionment. 🎭

P.P.S. - Speaking of cheat codes to the universe, we still really need to figure out how to watch Love Island outside of the UK! Send help! 🚨

Awesome, as always. I like the idea of that renaissance.
