Writing a gratitude poem as per Larissa’s prompt from last week. Not a ton to say this week, it’s mid-semester and I don’t have many words left. But the last few I have, I’m giving to you!
somebody in New York loves me
an easy statistic to forget when i’m not there & never have been all i got is this stupid t-shirt so strangers know hypothetically somebody hearts me in another state somebody died for me my kind of faith is hard to maintain when a tree falls i make it my business to hear thus the constant thudding of wood on earth in my ear for somebody in New York i echo like that: scent of honeysuckle, pink tint to the light, no way to know me just to know i’m alive
PROMPT: write a poem about someone you’ve never met.
xoxo
