Hello babies! Here’s my response to Sophie’s Babygirl poem inspired by being a man woman boy girl baby and turning 30 (for a second time because I skipped 29 last year)! Also, it’s short and sweet cause this week’s bookends are my birthday and my Brazil wedding party! Also, I’m in Brazil, lar doce lar, eating my weight in pão de queijo and seeing family.

I listened
To poets better painters than me about the importance of listening. I wrote with shades of orange and yellow, the winged lemur, the dance lessons. I thought about my self/them self/ by self. I used my last free Frieze essay for the year to read on Maggie Nelson writing on Plath writing on O’Keeffe. I wrote their names down, I plucked the poppy and I ate it
