hello everyone! It’s a leap year! Like a good neurodivergent brain, I tend to fixate on certain patterns within time frames; every new year is a reflection on the past 365 days, every birthday a freeze frame for self analysis, and every February 29th a report deadline. With that in mind here’s a leap day poem, wearing the skin of the present over the skeleton of February 29th 2020
We wait for the train, the train doesn’t wait for us

Record scratch that nvmd Four years ago, did you live to remember it? There was an old world the precedented times of pants pissing pre-oblivion now pantsing the future bare chest puffed huffing from the calendar construction zonetastic realignments of chakras by skinny white yogis believing in golden lattes brewing along the lines of newscasts when poetry was something only for those in the throes of love pining for human touch did not measure six feet apart and grandmas alive like hope of early career novices be thrown into a strangers gifting red boquetes Like February 29, I too only come every 4 years
I hope that the next leap day poem will be one of celebration and joy, that the next four years will be ones of collective liberation
Till then, we write, and share, and fight
