Hi charming friends, Kelly’s poem from last week reminded me that…
Idk much about quantum entanglement but I do know the "Doo doo doo, doo doo-doo doo, Doo doo doo, doo doo-doo doo, Doo doo doo, doo doo-doo doo, Doo doo doo” from Semi-Charmed Life
Eating Doritos In Paradise Forgetting Shrinkflation
Do you want something else to get you through this semi-charmed kind of life baby baby? Perhaps more music inspired poetry? Bestie, you’re in luck!
Unwanted Words has partnered with Poetry Trapper Keeper to bring you the UWW x PTK "Tortured Poets Department" Mic and Listening Party happening at Lola Lieven on 19 April from 19-22h!
We'll kick off the event with a line-up of poets who have taken on the (fun! exciting! maybe even slightly overwhelming!) task of writing a brand-new poem based on a randomly assigned track title from T.Swift's new album. We'll finish the night, of course, with a full listen of "Tortured Poets Department" (will there be critique? will there be crying? will there be singing? so many exciting possibilities!).
Tickets are €5 (or €8 and you get a fancy limited edition Tortured Poets Department-themed sticker with your entry). There's also a cash bar (well, it's Amsterdam, so of course they accept pin). We'll also have stickers for sale at the event, if that's your thing. If you're unable to cover the ticket price, email us at unwantedwords@gmail.com and we'll make sure you can still get in!
***THIS EVENT IS IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM ASSOCIATED WITH, ENDORSED BY, PROMOTED BY, OR AFFILIATED WITH TAYLOR SWIFT, HER RECORD COMPANY UNIVERSAL MUSIC AND/OR ANY OTHER PARTY ASSOCIATED WITH SWIFT. THIS IS AN INDEPENDENT FAN EVENT.***
Your poetry prompt for the week is to go to the grocery store, mall, thrift store, wherever and linger around until you hear a song that makes you go “OMG I LOVE THIS SONG I HAVENT HEARD IT IN FOREVER!”. Then write a poem about it
