Back in January, we had the great privilege of being joined by some of you in two thematic poetry workshops: QUEERING RESOLUTIONS which we hosted with Unwanted Words, and HOT PEOPLE DON’T MAKE RESOLUTIONS with The Berlin Writers.

As a part of our mission to platform new writers and showcase poetic experimentation, we left an open invitation to all who participated to publish their work with us (if they were so inclined).

Today, we’re already on our SEPTEMBER resolutions (or, anti-resolutions) with work by Lee Mast and Baši B. 🥂🥂🥂🥂

Ars Poetica 🐚

Infinite amounts of time
perfecting my words
Who am I impressing?

Shells, pockets full of minutes
each one a hollow expectation
breaking up my flow

Waves of alterations
or are they just erasing?
I find a memory of you

a heart-shaped stone
turning minutes and seconds
into moments

My buried feet underneath
the solid grains of sand
Infinite mountains of time

mood lighting 🛋️

from my dimly-lit bedroom
I watch the world be on fire
its bright glow illuminating my face
          mood lighting
but the mood is anger and desire for the flames
          to be put down
forget the future for a moment, I need
to close my eyes
the warmth of your touch
an antidote to all the voiceless violence
or simply, a bucket of water

as the dust settles
maybe we can sit down and have a pizza
pet your cat
and keep writing without stopping
