But I don’t wanna C-R-Y-Y-Y!🧅😭

Hi loves, this week’s poem is a response to a lot of things: Kelly’s poem from last week (and the subsequent chat with Arjan in the comments), the fact that my English students never remember how to say the letter Y when spelling words out loud, and finishing “Exciting Times” in 24h (and immediately staring to read it again because I feel personally targeted by this book: ESL teacher, moving as an escape, Hong Kong, bisexuality, wanting someone else to dictate the path of my life, generally self indulgent self loathing, etc)! Yikes! I think that’s it for inspiration so here’s the poem!
But I don’t wanna C-R-Y-Y-Y!🧅😭
some words are hard to spell and some are hard to S-A-Y Is it F-U-N-N-Y That some of the D-A-Y-S Belong O-N-L-Y To the green and to Y-O-U Just allow M-Y-S-E-L-F One time in the week but T-U-E-S-D-A-Y Is like so far A-W-A-Y Call me what Y-O-U Want cause I know I’ve been an E-N-E-M-Y Of the end but like M-A-Y-B-E There’s some miscommunication Y-O-U Are S-A-Y-I-N-G It like I don’t know But it’s A-C-T-U-A-L-L-Y pronounced like W-H-Y-it is. For real this time G-double O-D-space-B-Y- Forget it.
Poetry prompt:
pick the most beautiful letter in the alphabet and write a poem about W-H-Y it is so.
xoxo L (which is indisputably the most beautiful letter btw)
You can have all the time you need. On Tuesdays, on Sundays, Fridays. Pick your day.
My favorite letter is O
because it looks like a zero
as in zero worries
but is spelled Oh
as in Oh, wow,
this all is cool.
