Coucou! C’est moi, Larissa! There are so many new emails hanging out with us (thank you to all our new subscribers!) that we’ve decided to repost some of our older pieces for the ones with thumb fatigue who don’t feel like scrolling down the archives (it’s all good, we understand)!
Kelly’s poem from last week about the subs and tax evasion made me think of this piece I wrote way back in the long forgotten days of April 2022. I kept thinking back to it as I:
Watched the memes and TikTok jokes about billionaires on the sub, often framing it as good news.
Watched and read the resulting think pieces about how literally we should take the phrase “Eat the rich”
Saw at least 4 people comparing Sub schadenfreude with the years leading up to the French Revolution
Had a bite of the indulgently delicious Hot People Host a Dinner Party, which reminded me of the frou-frou cakes in Sophia Coppola’s “Marie Antoinette”
So, much like Kelly’s own Carrie Bradshaw moment, I couldn’t help but wonder, is the sub the new Lusitania, or the new guillotine?
Bonne nouvelle bitches 🍰

Here’s the original intro to this piece:
So as a response to Kelly’s poem from last week about a perfect match did you know Larissa hasn't had a Tinder (or any) date in over 9 months and that the wealth gap is bigger now than during the French Revolution? Anyway…. here’s a totally unrelated poem
And I will stick with its original poetry prompt:
The poetry prompt for this week is revolution. Jk, bake a brioche and write a poem about how sexy you are.
If you like what we do here you can send us a one time slice of cake over on Ko-Fi:
Or if you wanna help out but are suffering cause the billionaires keep hoarding the wealth, you can share PTK with your fellow revolutionary friends and family:
