I wanted to write a list poem this week after Larissa was pretty in pink last week (and was also pretty in something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue!) This list poem is after Alex Dimitrov’s A Poem Called Love, which is a Twitter account and a poem in one of his books. This is also kinda “I love you, I’m glad I exist," as L mentioned in the previous post. Got in a spirited debate a couple weekends ago about what, if anything, is better than kissing, so I guess this week’s entry is about that, too. And also about the time I was on a date with a beautiful painter and he said “I love shapes and colours.” Hell yeah man.
A Poem Called Love
I love summer bruises I love that Baby Spice gets to be named Baby Spice I love how department stores give out free nail polish if you're sneaky I love who I used to be, now I love shapes and colours I love falling asleep in the bath even though I’m not supposed to I love that I don’t have to die for a while probably I love that I cannot be neutral I love my guardian angel cause she knows when to quit I love being a bitch and I don’t do it enough I love kissing more than I love eating or sleeping I love a soft dress I love swimming but more than that I love the opportunity to be weightless I love so hard I can't lose anything
POETRY PROMPT: I mean… Make your own installment of A Poem Called Love. Or maybe a poem called hate? Indifference? The world is your oinkster, baby.
Thx for reading! And thx for such a wonderful welcome to the PTK community over the past few weeks.
Kiss kiss,
